We create creative, special portraits... so it’s normal for our clients to have some questions before they get in front of the camera! Some of our most frequent inquiries are answered below.
How do I book a session?
First, contact us so we can set up a free one-on-one consultation. We’ll discuss your vision for the shoot, learn more about you, and confirm that we can fulfill your needs. After our consultation, we’ll take your information and begin creating a custom narrative for the portrait series.
I’ve never had a portrait taken. How does it work?
After your consultation, we’ll sit down with you (and your fiancé, if it’s an engagement or wedding portrait) to present 2-3 themes. We’ll work together to choose one theme that best represents and inspires you. Once we’ve aligned on our creative concept, we’ll move on to details, such as choosing props, wardrobe, and a location that resonates with the theme.
What is included when we book a session?
With your session, you’ll be prepped and primped by a full professional styling team, including hair and makeup. Wardrobe and theme concepts are a collective collaborative between Carla and the client and are decided and prepped for during the theme conversions we’ll have after you book a session. Because the themes of each shoot vary, the props and wardrobe can vary greatly as well. We work very hard to ensure that our clients are elated with each step of the process.
When is the best time to book a session?
Bookings are based on the client’s preference, as well as our availability. Some clients choose to be photographed before their wedding, while others prefer afterward. We can discuss your timing needs during your consultation.
I’m not getting married—can I still book a session, just for me?
Yes! You never need an occasion to book a shoot with us. We offer personal portraits in addition to bridal portraits, anniversary portraits and more. Whether or not an occasion is at hand, we will capture your personality in a portrait that you will cherish for years to come. See some of our personal portrait work, and then contact us for a free consultation if you’re ready to make some magic.
I had bridal portraits done, but I’m not happy with them. Can I re-do them with you?
Yes! Several of our previous clients have requested our services in order to re-do their bridal portraits in a more inspiring way. Some brides want to wear a different dress—more theatrical, or more simple and modern—than their wedding day. Some brides want to wear something colorful, or to book a shoot for an anniversary gift! The options are limitless.
How do I receive the images after the session?
The final selects from each session are edited and posted to a personal online gallery where you can view and share with friends and family. You can also easily download high resolution versions of your images there. We do also provide end result products, such as luxury albums or printing and framing options, which you can inquire about during a free consultation.
I love your work! Will you shoot my wedding?
Unfortunately we do not do wedding day photography, however, when you book a portrait with us in advance of your wedding day (or even after it), you’ll have another special opportunity to wear your dress and capture the magic of the occasion.
I’m not a model... can I still work with you?
Yes! It is a popular misconception that we work with professional models, because the end result of our shoots are beautiful enough to be magazine spreads. We work with anyone who is inspired by high fashion photography, visual storytelling and an element of fantasy.
Here’s an interesting fact: In nearly all of the portraits in our portfolio, the clients have not been “posed”. The shoots flow so naturally that your authentic personality can be effortlessly captured.
